Not a lot of words start with the letter “K”, but that doesn’t make it any less special.
The letter “K” hails from the Greek letter K or kappa. This was taken from the Semitic kap, the symbol of which is an open hand. In early Latin inscriptions, K would be represented by the letter Q if it comes before a rounded vowel, by the letter K if it comes before the letter “A”, and by the letter C elsewhere. However, the reason we no longer have a lot of words that start with “K” is because most Romance languages use C instead, except for the occasional loan word.
Below are some positive words that begin with the letter “K”, and though they’re not much, they’re all very useful.
