The 30-year-old Lion of Teranga made an immediate impact as the Bavarians cruised to a comfortable victory at Deutsche Bank Park.
A wide range of supporters praised Sadio Mane’s immediate impact after he scored his first Bundesliga goal for Bayern Munich in a 6-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday.
The 30-year-old Senegal international headed home a Serge Gnabry cross to make it 3-0 as Bayern Munich led 5-0 at halftime at Deutsche Bank Park.
Bayern had taken the lead through Joshua Kimmich’s free kick before Benjamin Pavard made it 2-0. Mane then scored the third, Jamal Musiala the fourth, Gnabry the fifth, and Musiala the sixth but his second of the afternoon, while Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani pulled one back.
The Lion of Teranga’s performance since joining Bayern from Liverpool in June has many fans praising him, while others believe the Premier League club will regret letting him go.
“I knew Liverpool made a big mistake selling Sadio [Mane],” Vawulence Comrade began the debate on the GOAL Africa Facebook page, celebrating the players’ debut goal in the Bundesliga for the Bundesliga giants, adding: “Now Bayern is more invisible than Liverpool.”

Abimbola Aderemi believes Mane, who also scored for Bayern in last week’s German Super Cup victory over RB Leipzig, is just getting started and will shine.
“You just started, you will shine forever!” Aderemi said, adding, “A true pan Africanist we love you all…,” while Benjamin Ojara said, “He is a good player he can score at anytime am not surprised.”
“This one doesn’t need good luck; he knows where he’s coming from,” Thabo Wa Kobela said, while David Kumbutso Phiri called him “the man of the moment.”
Meanwhile, another group of supporters believes Mane, who played for Southampton in the Premier League, is deserving of the Ballon d’Or in 2022.
“Well deserved!” exclaimed Israel Elube, who added, “We will campaign for him to win the Ballon D’or,” while Jonas Antwi tweeted, “Give him the Ballon D’or!”
Others have praised Mane for his humility and predicted that he will shine wherever he goes.
“This man is the best player to ever happen in football, as well as Africa’s finest to ever grace the beautiful game,” wrote Chamudhee Kitheka, while Nana Yaw Adepa explained: “For your humility and good deeds, you will always be a champion wherever u go.”
“This guy is much better than the entire Manchester United squad,” Lupakisho Nagoli concluded.
The Lion of Teranga will look to continue his scoring form when Bayern face Wolfsburg in their second match of the season next Sunday at Allianz Arena.
